What I do Working with companies and individuals, I record corporate literature and biographies on audio CD (no video). I give you two copies of every recorded hour and you can make as many copies of the recording as you like.
FOR BUSINESSES
I work with you to create corporate audio CDs -- perhaps a keynote address you'd like to share with employees at the end of the year, a Happy Holiday audio card, a "Welcome to our company" CD for new employees, or something all together different.
Make an audio CD or MP3 Podcast for employees or business customers.
It's a novel way to:
Tell customers what's new in the product line and highlight benefits of doing business with your company.
Improve employee communications by providing an easy way to stay in contact with the people that work for you.
Send an employee or vendor greeting card at year-end to let people know how much you appreciate their hard work and to emphasize key developments that have occurred throughout the year (like a merger or launch of a new division).
FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES
I record -- kids, parents, classmates, couples in love, grandparents, widows/widowers -- anyone willing to share a story. You or your loved one talks about life and I listen (and record it).
Why you should When people ask me why they should think about recording their life or business history on audio CD, I sum it up in two short sentences -- "Life matters!" and "Death changes everything."
People wait. Some say they don't have time, but they have time for... Internet surfing, watching cable TV and other activities so why not time for recording important memories, family voices -- voices that could be yours, perhaps a parent's or a friend's. Voice is so precious and death silences it, for eternity. Oh yeah, I have video of mom and dad waving and saying hi to the camera, but they aren't talking about life issues I would like to hear more about now that I'm older ---
Things like:
Hey dad, how did you survive when mom was dying from cancer? Mom, what kind of kid were you when growing up, social, the quiet type? What games did you play? Dad, what made you want to open a hardware store? What's in your chili recipe? ....and so it goes.
Why can't I do it myself? You can, but chances are you won't. You'll procrastinate. Don't feel bad. We all do it. And then one day, I fear you'll regret it. By hiring a professional, you'll get a candid, organized interview. You'll get a crisp, noise free recording --- in stereo. You will probably learn some things about your family you didn't know -- many times people open up to strangers in ways they won't with their own family because of a fear of judgment.
What can I say that people don't already know? If this is a personal recording you can talk about....
Life growing up as a kid
What getting married was like
When you did important things in your life -- that first job, first car, a big trip you took.
What is special to you about your kids/grandkids/wife/significant other/friend?
What will this cost me? I charge a flat rate of $200 for a one hour interview. I interview at businesses and homes of clients depending on circumstances. Long distance interviews are conducted via telephone using broadcast-grade equipment. Every recording is made in stereo with high quality recording equipment. Two CD copies for each hour of recorded interview are provided. I edit out noise and organize the recording so it has a logical flow. Custom jewel case labeling options are available.
Okay, how does this work? When recording family histories, interviewees and their families are asked to check off questions on a list I supply them with. It is used as a base for the interview, but not used exclusively.
For business interviews, I meet one on one with clients when feasible to discuss the tone, purpose, and content that meets their needs. Every business is unique, and is evaluated on an individual basis.
